Teloglion Fine Arts Foundation
The Teloglion Fine Arts Foundation was founded in 1972 after Nestor and Aliki Telloglou donated their entire fortune and art collection. It is located in Thessaloniki and it is set in a modern building at the north side of the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki. It was inaugurated in December 1999, thirty-four years after the death of Nestor Telloglou and after his wife’s persistent efforts. The foundation’s initial collection of artworks was afterwards enriched with the donations made by friends of the arts.
Programs for children
The educational programs are designed by the Department of Educational Programs of the Telloglion Fine Arts Foundation of the Aristotle University. Based on the principles of experiential learning, they respect the child’s personality and they add knowledge on the already existing. The basis for a successful educational program is the constructive cooperation between the teacher and the museum. Its main objective is to expand the students’ spiritual horizons, as well as to cultivate the aesthetic, musical and artistic education.
Through an educational action for kindergarten or elementary students the program’s main purpose is to bring them in contact with concepts like museum (a short historical review), culture, exhibition-selection, setting-up.
